Special Features of Project: The East-West Road project is a dual carriageway road network that traverses the difficult terrain in the oil-rich Niger Delta region. It starts off at Warri in Delta State and traverses the five coastal states of the Niger Delta region (that is Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and the Cross River States) to link up with the Calabar – Ikom road at Odukpani in Cross River State.
The construction of this road network has been divided into five sections. Sections I to IV (total length 352km) was started in 2006. Section V, Oron – Calabar is currently under design.
The four sections under construction are as follows:
Section I: Warri (CH0 + 000) – Kaiama (CH101 + 000) – 101Km
Section II: Port Harcourt, Eleme Junction (CH0 + 000) – Kaiama (CH101 + 000) – 101Km
Section III: Port Harcourt, Eleme Junction (CH0 + 000) – Onna (CH99 + 000) – 99Km
Section IV: Onna (CH99 + 000) – Oron (CH150 + 000) – 51Km
Role: Construction supervision of Section IV + redesign of Eket By-Pass
